How are human rights likely to be endangered by the growth of the world's population?
Q. How are human rights likely to be endangered by the growth of the world's population? What rights are most necessary to protect? How can governments and quasi-governmental organizations protect human rights in the face of the changing world?
Asked by tarektk77 - Wed Mar 7 14:00:26 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The more people we have, the more restrictions we have to control the masses. Each new ordinance detracts from human rights. Much of this is brought about because there are always those who believe they can fix everything by enacting a new law, Some good examples would be: guns, seatbelts, civic codes, etc.

Is the Declaration of Human Rights a fair representation of the beliefs of all the UN countries?
Q. The Declaration of Human Rights is based off of the English and United States Bill of Rights, and the French, Rights of Man and of the Citizen. Do you feel it properly represents the interests of the Middle Eastern countries? If you don't feel if properly addresses the difference in culture such as gender equality and freedom of religion. Do you think that those individuals it negates are more afraid of change than have an actual moral grievance?

A. The UN Declaration of Human Rights is Socialist Propaganda. It's not any kinda of real law or anything to be taken seriously other than that.

How can some people turn illegal immigration into a human rights issue?
Q. Because it isn't about human rights at all. There is no human right to help yourself to the wealth of your neighbor. This nation is wealthy because the citizens of this nation have built a system that is conducive to the creation of wealth. The illegals, and the citizens of Mexico who actully do have the national pride to remain in their country, have every right, however, to change their system to make it more friendly toward wealth creation. That means the rule of law, an independent judiciary, an end to corruption, respect for individual rights, a strong system of property rights, and express limits on government power. Until they realize that, and implement those elements of good government, they will remain poor. They have so right,… [cont.]

A. You spoke wisely. In addition, it is called a 'human rights' issue by Leftists pushing to build a power base of illegal immigrants. It is simple use of language to dissuade reasonable argument. After all, you can't argue against someone's 'human rights'. Leftists are masters of use of language to their advantage. They will redefine as needed to manipulate the conversation. Orwell warned of this.

What are some human rights denied to the colonists while under British rule.?
Q. I need help!! Please tell some human rights denied to the colonists or rules that British citizens had that the colonists didn't have under British rule?
Asked by calitennisboi - Sun Oct 26 20:20:39 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Under British rule, the colonists didn't have freedom of religion, and they had to pay taxes to Greta Britain. They also didn't have the right to set up their own governments. The colonists weren't represented in the English Parliament so they didn't get a say in the laws which governed them. That's why one of the most famous sayings from that time period is "No taxation without representation".

Q. How has the Human Rights Act 1998, and cases decided under it, affected the recognition, enjoyment and protection of privacy of the individual?
Asked by Miss. Dee - Thu Feb 26 22:02:57 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Basically as far as 'enjoyment' goes, one of the main issues that one person's 'enjoyment' is another person's 'infringement' - this has been much argued in respect of the UK ban on smoking in public places - one group proposes the right to enjoy a smoke in a pub, the other proposes the right to enjoy a drink in a pub without being forced to inhale smoke.

Q. There are obviously a lot of news stories about Tibet and how their human rights are being violated, but what exactly is China doing to them? I haven't been able to find any info on this. Thanks for the first two answers and I think my next statement can be directed at both of you. If 'Some sour tibetans wants to run Tibet by themselves' or if you take dbrody4's point of view, that 'Chinese are taking over the Tibet nation', why did the dalai lama say he didn't mind China being in charge?

Why do american conservatives appear so insensitive to human rights and minority interests?
Q. An ultra-conservative regime "ran" america for 8 years. During those 8 years it has been brought to light that the right consistently disregards human rights and minority interests. This is a terrible hole that we will have to dig ourselves out of. But I am confident that, with the right wing ousted, america will once again be able to have standing in the world. Cheers.

A. First, you're not being fair in this question because you use a neutral word (appear) in your title and then loaded language (the right consistently disregards human rights) in the explanation. You're judging conservatives' actions by your definition of human rights (I thought we were not supposed to judge-At least that's what I've been told over and over). They believe in human rights as well, but they have a different definition of it and have different goals than you do. Actually, I know many conservatives who are just fine with minorities; maybe you're stereotyping.

What types of companies are known for putting aside human rights because of the bottom line?
Q. For example oil companies will drive the local population to get oil. Another many clothing companies will have sweat shops because of the bottom line. Are there any more types of companies that turn there head to human rights just to make a profit?

A. HA! There are hundreds of companies eager to make a quick couple dollars starting with Starbucks, McDonald's and Dell. If the businesses had their way, they would sap peoples wallets and not give them anything at all or generic stuff that breaks. Also, everybody wants cheap labor, or free labor. on the other hand, everybody wants some source of income. Do the math. All businesses are thieves, but they do it in a legal way. That's the bottom line. Human rights are just words on paper on a wall saying blah blah blah, and they know it. Greed is the weapon of mass destruction.

Q. What are human rights and what role do they play in society? Some people do not live in the USA, mate
Asked by jeffklib - Tue Nov 21 01:13:13 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The term "human rights" generally refers to the basic protections that most civilized countries afford. The most common include freedom from slavery, freedom to marry who you choose, freedom of expression and worship, freedom to own property, freedom from torture and persecution, and so on. The details vary by country and applicable law, but the basic idea is that people should be allowed to live their lives in such a way as they choose, as long as they don't harm others in the process. Sadly, many countries (including the US recently) have abandoned this concept in the name of conformity and security.

How is the systematic abuse of human rights in other country's cults different from ours?
Q. I just wonder at the plausibility of political rhetoric ascertaining to other countries and what they allow groups in their locals to get away with against human rights, when there are many groups in our own which do the same.

A. Humanity differs in every culture and also in every individual because it's affected by beliefs and feelings. But the human rights are the same, because human rights are laws made by lawyers, therefor it's rational. Human rights are not made according to feelings or belief of a group of people, but they are made by man kind intellect. If human rights differs in every cult, it's because they are set according to the beliefs of a group of people living in a specific area; and I call that humanity not human rights. The human rights I know is set by the UN and is always the same in every area.

A. I don't think that they award compensation. Basically, when they rule in your favor it allows you to initiate a law suit. I would see an attorney. Most will work on contingent if it is a valid case. That is why most people go with mediation.
